Haikyū！！ Is such a well balanced manga！ Continually impressed by how Furudate keeps matches against varying teams interesting， whether you’re a sports fan or not。 The player growth on and off the court is poignant， eloquently narrated and doesn’t overrun us with too much backstory。 There’s always a bit of goofiness to enjoy amidst the challenges characters face and it all flows so naturally。

Haikyu 13 takes us through the Johzenji and beginning of the Wakutani South games。 Such fast paced matches and heaps of action ensued。 I will continue to love this series through the manga and anime versions。 Definitely a few frames and phrases that made me laugh sprinkled in this one， as well as that cliffhanger ending！ Overall， 5 stars for this volume in the Haikyu manga series。

Karasuno comes up against a team that's all about 'having fun' and 'doing fun stuff'。 For a series rooted in the love of volleyball （ever since Hinata based his life on wanting to continue playing on the court）， this team challenges how far one can go playing for 'fun'。 The big stand-out of this volume is Karasuno's captain， Sawamura Daichi， and how he's one of the most plain and unasuming character on the team。 But he's also the most reliable and stable， he keeps the team together and gets them Karasuno comes up against a team that's all about 'having fun' and 'doing fun stuff'。 For a series rooted in the love of volleyball （ever since Hinata based his life on wanting to continue playing on the court）， this team challenges how far one can go playing for 'fun'。 The big stand-out of this volume is Karasuno's captain， Sawamura Daichi， and how he's one of the most plain and unasuming character on the team。 But he's also the most reliable and stable， he keeps the team together and gets them to focus on what they need to do to win。 He's an underrated character， and this volume sets up an arc for him about how he's underrated。 。。。more
